Fort Myers architects hired to design new Chico’s office building

Lee County and the state of Florida approved $3.26 million in financial incentives to expand the Chico’s FAS headquarters in Fort Myers. The Fort Myers Regional Partnership and Lee County’s Economic Development Office announced Dec. 8, 2011, that the the county and State of Florida had approved money for the project, expected to help create 150 new jobs with salaries totaling about $11.3 million over the next three years.

Chico’s FAS Inc. has hired Gora/McGahey Architects to plan and design its new office building at its Fort Myers headquarters.

GMA, also based in Fort Myers, will provide the architectural design, documentation and construction administration services for the Chico’s project.

A 146,000-square-foot office building will be constructed on the 60-acre Chico’s campus at 11215 Metro Parkway. A groundbreaking was held Wednesday.

The environmentally friendly project is registered for certification with the Florida Green Building Coalition under their newly updated Green Commercial Building Standard.

Chico’s received $3.26 million in Lee County and state incentives to support its latest expansion. The expansion will create 150 new jobs over the next three years, paying about $11.3 million in salaries.

Chico’s operates more than 1,200 boutiques and outlet stores. It has four brands: Chico’s, White House/Black Market, Soma Intimates and Boston Proper, its newest acquisition.
